Brindiamo Group a leader in beverage industry mergers and acquisitions, announced that Brindiamo served as exclusive advisors in the purchase of the D’Vine Wine business by Handcrafted Wines. D’Vine Wine is a family owned importer and distributor of fine wines with operations covering the state Oregon. Handcrafted distributes wine, spirits and specialty items in Kansas for national companies and is working aggressively to expand a footprint in the beverage distribution business.
In 1996 Handcrafted was founded with the vision to provide a meticulously vetted, concise selection of the some of the worlds’ finest handcrafted wines and other beverages to customers across the sunflower state. D’Vine endeavors to bring Oregon’s retailers and restaurants wines that represent a “best in class” status or winemakers / winegrowers who are leading the industry by adhering to old traditions, family values and creating new wines inspired by the ‘back to basics’ movements in sustainable forms of farming and production.
“The nature of acquiring an additional distributor made this a very delicate and complex transaction” said Donald Brain, General Manager of Handcrafted. “Brindiamo really understood how to get this done. They took the time to make sure all stakeholders had a positive outcome. We needed to make sure the company’s culture, existing team, customers and suppliers all could build on this acquisition. The knowledge and discipline that Brindiamo brought to this process has allowed us to achieve all of these, as well as to better position Handcrafted Wines for the future”.
“It’s been a great experience to advise Handcrafted in this purchase,” said Jeff Hopmayer, Managing Partner of Brindiamo Group. “The future for these two companies, the brands they represent and the retailers they supply, is only going to grow.”
Full integration will take place over the next few months. The transaction is between the two privately-held companies no details will be disclosed. Brindiamo Group acted as the exclusive advisor on the transaction.
